Don told me when I was in my late 30's not to worry. "Life starts to get interesting at 40." On my 40th birthday I asked "Well?" to which he replied "You must wait until you are 42, surely you know that?". Perhaps unknown to some, he was a scientist as well as a musician, and well understood the significance of 42. My worldly, funny, adventurous and generous friend I miss you.
Don told me, an avid Hitchhiker's Guide fan, that life would start to get really interesting at 40 one day when I was feeling miserable. On my fortieth birthday I asked "Well?", to which he answered "Of course my dear you know you will have to wait until you are 42." Sage advice as always from a man who was a scientist, a musician, and a wise, funny, generous, adored friend. Helen
