I remember seeing Jeff Healey for the first time late 80's at Grossman's Tavernette in Toronto. He came on stage when the house band went for a break and he just completely blew me away. A French woman was sitting at my table and in response to my adelades said "tres ordinaire, tres ordinaire", which left me wondering what planet she came from!!!. Never forgot that night!!

I had the honour of meeting Jeff some 13 yrs back when they played a show in Peterborough. My oldest son was blessed to have Jeff play on one of his albums something I will always hold dear. Being a fan of Jeffs myself it was more then a thrill to actually get to meet him and join the band on the tour bus where we were welcomed with open arms. I have to admit I was like a love struck teenager then just again for that moment.. Playing with his Beautiful little darling Rachel's toes. Jeff was all smiles and Kindness. You will live on in our hearts and minds.

I first heard of Jeff from hearing his song "angel eyes" and fell in love with the song and then his music. I remember coming across him on the movie roadhouse and thinking how well he could also act. I never realized he had been fighting a lifelong battle with cancer and my heart goes out to his family and friends. You can see every beautiful thing now, can't you Jeff? Will never forget you.

First of all, deepest sympathies and thoughts to Jeffs family-they will never be alone while Jeffs music lives on.I have followed this guy since the beginning.Such a talent and taken too soon.I understood that he was coming over on tour to see us this year-something I was really looking forward to.Now that the MAN upstairs has taken him to the 'great gig in the sky',I guess I'm gonna have to wait a little longer-that ticket has been booked for a while!Rest in peace,Brother,if you get the chance!See ya soon! Geoff (and all other Rhinos,Winos & Lunatics from UK !)

Jeff, you were an inspiration to all who played guitar. I had the honour of meeting you at your bar in Toronto some years ago and you gave me great advise on how to practice and be patient with it. You will always have a special place in my heart. Our loss is Gods gain, rest in peace, always remembered.

Jeff has ironically opened more eyes to the blues/rock/jazz scene than most of us musicians with the gift of sight. You will be missed my friend, until we meet at the Big Road House in the sky.

It was great to see a person playing for the love of music and not for all the things he couldn't see! He was blessed.

I had the honor of meeting Jeff as a bass player in an opening act at Freeman Field several years ago. Before Jeff's show we spoke briefly and took a picture together that hangs on my wall and that I will always cherish. My condolences are extended to his bandmates and family and may God bless Jeff on his new journey in heaven.

It gave me chills every time I heard him play. As a guitarist he may have been the most underrated player of our time. His execution was flawless and a style all his own, breathing new life into classics like Hideaway. My perosnal favorite will always be Blue Jean Blues; he just tore it apart. I think the fact that he could not see was the reason he had such musical prowess; every note was pure feel and emoition. I will miss him and I suspect that the world in general never knew what an amazing talent he possessed. It went well beyond his blindness and he should be held in the same regard as most of the great blues and jazzmasters.

Phenomenal musician. Champion spirit. Family man and all around hero to many who love blues guitar. Your dedication to your gift - despite so many obstacles - shows what true grit really is. Thank you for all you have done for the music industry - and for anyone with a soul who listens to your music and is moved by it.

when I first heard you I thought it was Jimi Hendrix. One of my all time favorite concert preformances was when you played at F&M college, With a lazer light shining down on you and fog coming across it looked as though you were inside a lava lamp, that was in the early 1990's and I can still picture it in my mind today.Angel Eyes was the first song I danced to with my now ex-wife at our wedding reception. YOU WILL BE MISSED!!!

I had no idea that Jeff was blind since the age of one nor that he had cancer but this I do know, I have danced many many times to Jeff's very beautiful song Angel Eyes . I loved it the first time I heard it . Cancer is such a cruel disease . I am a 63 year old Great Grandmother and cancer took both my parents from me just six months apart. My sympathy goes to Jeff's family.

My wife and I were fortunate enough to see Jeff quite a number of years ago at The Living Room in Providence,RI. The place was packed and we were, literally, squeezed between the stage speakers watching his every move. Man, talk about blown away by this monster talent. He slayed me that night in much the same way Stevie Ray Vaughan blew me away, the first time. An amazing talent has, once again, left us too soon. My thoughts and prayers are with your wife and kids. We will never forget you.
