I was lucky enough to get to work with Mark at Government House in 2001. Ten years later my memories of him are still fresh and full of colour, because that is who Mark was. A man larger than himself. Exuberant. Full of life. I remember his fedoras. His rich voice echoing through the chambers of the house. His stories. His glasses of wine. My image of him will always be sitting under the arches of the house, legs crossed, looking out over Sydney harbour. For me this is where he will always be. The world needs people like Mark Hamilton, for better or worse. And the world is a lesser place now that he has left us. Tom Holloway
