A newspaper article on Peter Hepworth 1966. I found this whilst doing research on West Heidelberg and Rosanna High School where Peter attended http://news.google.com/newspapers?id=_EkQAAAAIBAJ&sjid=XpMDAAAAIBAJ&pg=6593%2C1510010

Have just discovered Peter's passing. TRISH - my love goes out to you AND YOUR FAMILY, we were rivals once but we are one in grief. I am gobsmacked and so VERY,VERY sad! I live in WA, we hear NOTHING over here so I am sorry I didn't respond at the time. May God continue to smile on you all - you had a wonderful husband and father To Peter - I loved you dearly, more dearly than words can ever tell. Ang xxx

Peter was the most nurturing friend I ever made as a writer. He was generous, kind and always had time for his friends. I am saddened beyond words and shall miss him terribly and always. I raise a can to you, mate. (Well, more than just one!)

Rest in peace dear Peter. Fondest memories of a true, loyal, generous, friend, confidant and wonderful work colleague over 15 years. Many happy memories of magical plotting meetings on the many shows we worked on together. Lots of laughs and insights. Many wonderful spurr of the moment recitations of poetry and soliloquies - your repertoire was superlative. Your instinct and knowledge of story was unsurpassed and the compassion and kindness that comes with knowng and loving human beings with all their flaws and wondrous virtues created memorable and beautiful characters. Thank you for your friendship and inspiration. Rest in peace dear man.

We were so sad to hear of Peter's death. For many years we worked with Peter as his agents. He was always pleasant and professional - a good bloke. Things didn't always go well for him in the last few years but we know he really enjoyed some times at the footy with family and friends - even if those closest didn't barrack for his team! We are thinking of all family members and close friends at this time and wish you all well. Debbie and Colin Golvan

I'm greatly saddened to hear of Peter's death. I met him way back in the late '60s when we both worked for the Melbourne Theatre Company - we did acting workshops together and he was my ASM on "Twelfth Night" at the Union Theatre. We shared the frustration of wrangling dry ice, but also many laughs and a great deal of wine! I remember many a party at his Dad's place - or I wish I could! I'm sorry we lost touch, Pete - my memories of you are all happy ones. RIP old friend, and my deepest sympathies to your family.

Oh Peter...there will never be another you, talking 19 to the dozen with a fag miraculously sticking to your lip. I enjoyed the times we plotted together enormously. Now take it easy...your story has been told. And thank you for the laughs. Coral Drouyn
