To all your students without discrimination, you were not only a professor, but also a counselor, parent and friend. You listened with your heart, and were always ready to help no matter what. One philosophy of yours was: "Do your best in everything you do,” which is a magical formula because whenever I apply it, I always succeed. I met you five years ago, but it seems like I have known you for more than 20 years, because through your multiple advice (that I will always follow), I have learned and accomplished a lot. I will be grateful forever and won't stop thanking you for that. Regardless of your title and social class, you were leading a simple and humble life that makes you different from others. No matter the situation you were going through, you were always keeping that smile on your face. Nobody could imagine when you were going through rough situations, and your priority was to listen and solve others’ problems. As for your spirituality, you continually devoted your entire life to the Almighty God who called you on October, 14th 2014, and I know God had a good reason to call you. Through His mercy, may the Lord welcome you in His kingdom. Adieu Prof Joseph Aiyeku and see you up there; you will always be etched in our memories. Irene K.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Remembering Prof Joe Aiyeku As hard as it is for me to reconcile with the fact that Joe has taken his final bow here on earth, I seek solace in his own personal belief that mortal beings cannot question God’s will. So, we leave him in God’s eternal care. Joe was a loyal friend to the core. Joe: you will live in my mind and fondly remembered. I cherish memories of how, nearly 20 years ago in far away Australia, we both sowed the seed that germinated as the International Academy of African Business and Development (IAADB); traversed the globe in the advancement of scholarship and sundry adventures. Dear Joe, I salute you and say, death must not find you thinking that you died. Those who live in the hearts of others do not die. Adieu, my bosom friend. Professor Sonny Nwankwo London, UK Inaugural President, IAABD. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

It is incredibly difficult to articulate the impact of Joe's passing on one, but it is not difficult to understand the weight of the impact. Joe had and exhibited virtues that remind us each day of the goodness of God's creation, the kind of creation that we each desire and aspire to be. As we mourn Joe's passing, let us also praise our way through this difficult time by focusing on the positive impact of Joe's life on virtually everyone he crossed paths with. May God, in His infinite grace and mercy, receive Joe to eternal glory. Jerry K.

Dr. Fola’s death has actually created a vacuum in the family and I am at the moment stunned and in a state of denial of the reality. I lost a very close confidant and an elite in the academic community worldwide. I fondly called him Dr. Fola. His kindness and generosity to mankind remains a success of pride to the family and to a fault. He was a man who believes things should always be done RIGHT. He excelled in his chosen professional life and was a renowned educator far and wide. He encouraged me to pursuit my academic dreams in USA. Without Dr. Fola, I would not be here today. In fact, I credited my success both in academic and professional life to him and thank God for his life. Dr. Fola will be greatly missed. Dr. Fola rest in Absolute Perfect Peace. This is without any doubt, an irreplaceable loss of a very dear friend who was indeed a great brother to me. No word or words could express the emptiness I feel right now as it finally dawn on me that I will no longer be able to see, call or speak with my very good friend and brother, “Folly-Joe,” as I had always called him. His smile, kindness and mannerism will forever be missed. To his children, Joe is Daddy or Dad. To my children, Fola is Uncle Fola. To his friends, he was Joe or Fola. To his students, he was revered as Professor or Dr. Aiyeku. Whichever way we were comfortable calling him, his friendliness, and passion for goodness with kind demeanor were always the same. These will forever be missed and irreplaceable. All I am left with is the fond memory of the journey Folly-Joe and I had for almost 30 years. A great journey with lots of fun indeed and for that, I will eternally be grateful to my Folly-Joe. All I can say now in Yoruba language is “Odi arinako, otun doju ala, sunre o ore mi owon.” Adieus Prof. Dr. Joseph Folarin Aiyeku! Prof Abel Adekola.
