Ron, nearly 4 years after you left I still wake up feeling for you on the other side of the bed. The dogs still run to the front door when they hear exhaust brakes from the tipper across the road. Still referred to at darts frequently. Missing you badly.....

Today is your birthday, (Gee your getting old Ron) ha ha and there will undoubtedly be more tears, sore heads and happy memories of you by everyone that knew you.
You certainly are greatly missed.
What do you mean not enough beer's on your coffin to get you up there!!
Your'e just lucky it didn't collapse with all the weight of good cheer sent with you by your friends. Forever & Ever Ron. Les & Annette.

These are the words I had wished to say at the funeral, but I was too emotional to do so;
Ron had always expressed a desire to never grow old and infirm, well my darling you never will. 32 years of knowing my soul-mate, with 30 years of marriage celebrated this year. Where do I start? Way back in 1978, at the Sunset Tavern (in the rear of the Ashfield Hotel), I was there with my boyfriend who was ignoring me, so I went and sat on the lap of a strange man. I ended up taking him to work that night and married him 2 years later! You were a biker, and loved your Honda 750-4, and we rode around many places together safely. To this day I always said, with a huge smile, that I never forgave you for throwing me off the back of the bike when you hit a patch of oil in the rain, coming through the bends out of Gosford. You went and checked the condition of THAT DAMNED BIKE FIRST, because I was surrounded by people and was OK! Four years after we married, we welcomed our son Stephen James into the world. How proud you were of him. There is so much of you in him - the good and bad- but he has grown into a fine young man, just like his father.
Ron, I thank you for the many years of joy and happiness you gave me, and hope you are at peace with your father John, and brother Ray. And in Ron's words he would be saying HURRY UP AND GET THIS BULLS... OVER, SO WE CAN GET TO THE WAKE!!!!! With all my love, until we meet again

It's selfish I know but we all miss you dear Ron, your wonderfull giving nature, always helping out your friends unconditionally, thankyou for hitting so many compulsory one's at darts on a Sunday, sharing around the lollipops you won, most of all thanks for just being our friend. So when it's our time to come I will have the same as everyone, a schooner of new, a comfy chair, the BBQ burning for us all to share. So sharpen up your darts, set the board just right we will give you a run for your money if it takes all night. Sadly missing you Ron.

I will miss Ron so much for his friendless sense of humour and being a good listener. He always greeted me with "It.s Bernies debt" followed by a hearty laugh he thought that was really funny. Whenever I got him as a partner he would always say "I want mi money back" it gave everyone a giggle. Now is the time for me to say goodbye as the Good Lord want.s you for his dart team in the sky. Love Bernadette
